Of course style is different things to different people blah blah..
In Myyy city, NYC, as I am forced to take the MTA(subway :( )..I see soooo many things that grasp my attention.

My first style "thingy" I will touch upon is winter jackets...Since it is freezing here..

I always notice what someone is wearing, how it is styled, how it is sewn as soon as I see it because I am just obsessive that way BUT..
Guys, I apologize but..Dislike it very badly!!...Every guy seems to have one now?
I dont like the plastic look and have yet to find someone to convince me otherwise...

I have decided to make this blog posting a little bit different.
INTRO--
I am no dedicated journalist, but merely an Art lover who is attempting to reach her Ever-so- subconsciously stylish target audience by sharing with them the things I focus upon as well as my opinions on such. Men&Women alike.

My main purpose here is to educate, inform, and entertain my readers about topics in Fashion, Entertainment, and Music with my own personal twist.
I do have the faithful few blogs that I read all the time, but every now and then...I come across some that are quite interesting. Bad? Good?

There is no Blog handbook, or blog rule but I believe that purpose is important.
Who is your target audience? What are you trying to achieve? What topics are your strengths, weaknesses? Do you use factual information when addressing an issue? Do you tell a story to captivate? Is your blog all over the place or do you focus on specific things?

I have decided that my favorite color for the Spring of 2009 according to the Fashion Color Trend Report will be; a bit of Mixed with some And a tad bit of; (Not so bright probably)

Today's topic is MEN.
Of course they're still in style! LoL.

Touching on something a fellow Blogger said, some of her peers felt as though women had it easier because "they do not have to spend a lot of money to look good and they devote their lives to it, therefore it comes easier."

Very interesting opinion.
I will simply say I disagree in the sense that everyone is different and there are some men who are very meticulous about what they wear. (Then exists the double standard, where a woman in sweats is not acceptable.) Society and Societal Norms plays a major role in all of this and dictates what men and women view as acceptable clothing as well as why certain things are worn.

It is false though(for the most part). According to a Times article I once read, FEMALE garments are more expensive(Males, insert GASP! here) because they go through constant seasonal changes, and detailed adjustments and need to vary (sometimes)drastically by the season. When they do not, designers have to pay more for marketing. The manufacturing cost are also higher because mostly, the pieces aren't made in massive quantities.
Last but NOT least, Women (more likely than men) will judge the garments worth based on the PRICE TAG. $19.99 Coach doesn't quite sound as good as $450 Coach, thus resulting in designers charging a higher price.

Hmm the real Balenciaga?

Or the $69.99 Bakers version?

So I ask, women..it seems so shallow does it not? Are we?

Yes we women do spend a little more time getting dressed(not all). But in no way is it easier...Unless by easier you mean, we can head to Pretty Woman or Forever 21 and get two outfits for the price of your one. LoL. When you say thattt..ur right. (Thats if some of us even shop there).
Regardless, Men, you have been doin ur thing for 2008, I commend you...(some of you)

But as for the rest..Dont follow trends, find ur own style..What makes YOU Feel GooD. I love seeing guys setting trends..Exclusive and Confident as themselves.
(&&in no way does that ever include saggin' ur tight spandex jeans! STOP!)

This Year..for me Personally, will be called.. EXPOSURE.
Failure is not an option. I was born to be in the entertainment/art/fashion industry and I will be.

Everyone that knows me and some that have merely seen or heard of me, knows that I am very much into FASHION. From the way I dress, the way I carry myself, Events I attend, Pictures, what I speak about....they speak a thousand words.

I love designing, sewing, taking old clothes and making them look new..Producing and coordinating fashion shows, Modeling...Writing about fashion, watching it.
I am an observer, who creates upon observing what has been done.

Fashion for me encompasses so much more than What clothes you put on and What name is printed on your tag.
Fashion is an ART form. It portrays beauty, creativity, fantasy, emotions. It makes bold statements about things we feel or want to depict.

Controversy?:
A lot of people, many whom I know...Feel the need to proclaim how much of an original and a trendsetter they are when it comes to Fashion. I disagree. Most of us, self proclaimed "trendsetters" are quite the fashion followers, and follow me as I break that down...
--We know we need something to wear...
--We think of our personal style, then subconsciously..channel something we have seen without necessarily thinking about it.
--We go out and buy it...or sometimes go in underground stores (thrift, vintage)..hoping to see something out of the ordinary..and then there are the designing few who make their own..

But all in all...Most of what is worn today..has been worn. Claiming to the world how much of an original you are, does nothing...
Give credit where credit is due..and continue of your quest for your personal style.

-For Real fashion trendsetters...Personal style is eternal. Of course, times are changing but overall..
Ex.1--Audrey Hepburn..wasn't born knowing she would have such an impact on the fashion world...She wore what she liked, minimalistic. Little Black Dress, Black Trousers..


Ex.2--Diane Von Furstenburg..Has been a fashion icon for over 30 years. Creating her Signature wrap dresses. Her personal style has always been the same.

Ex.3--Karl Lagerfeld, the head Designer for Chanel...since his hair was Black, he has kept his personal style just that, personal, and remains a Fashion icon.

[09.] ADVENTURES: My crazy summer. BBQs everyy weekend..going out almost every night..all while never being hrd from by the Car Community gatherings.Attending Random races and seeing RandOm Exes of Dudes, ICE GriLLin i&i...lol. I luv it!
[08.]EXPERIENCES: Letting my anti social guard down to talk to the talk of the Town and hearing bout it back from ppl..sounds funny huh? very interestiing.lol

[04.]DRAMA: Is this an understatement for me?...maybe! LoL. SnR yR of College. Best &Worst Yr. Had Lots of Ups n Downs. Lots of Drama but its only cuz ppL like Drama or else they get bored. Great YeaR oveR aLL tho. Break ups, Break DowNs, OD School Work, Cried in Rain, Cursed 4 the First time ever, CoLLapsed from Bad News(lmao i thought that only happened on Tv)....All dat good stuff. More you dont know..

[03.] LOVE. After Drama comes Love ever so perfectly. Old loves, New old loves....New Likes, came..got left..Boys amaze me. Gotta luv em..(and hate em..really bad. LoL.)

[02.]FASHION.Sent out stuff to contacts in Europe so I could LeAVE! Yesss! Made a couple more pieces.Set the "bleach a patch of my hair, the back" trend on UHA Campus..which led to everyyybody doin it when I decided to stop.(of course they will deny it, but a lot of us knew better.)Did lots of shows. Lots.Met soo many people from so many events.
