OSCAR THE BEAUTIFUL!

BOLD, FLASHY, &FABULOUS...
Hands down, the ACADEMY AWARDS/OSCARS are my absolute FAAAvorite awards show.

It is the only awards show that can bring out every emotion in me; I cried(lol i couldnt help it), I laughed, I got ecstatic, I got mad, and most of all, I smiled the entire time! I loved all of it. [Dont judge me, I find beauty in the most unusual things]

1. Slumdog Millionaire is my favorite movie for 2008, maybe almost ever, and I cannot even COUNT how many times I have seen it since it came out.
It swept away the awards for so many categories.
I have two songs from the soundtrack on the playlist.. "O Saya" and "Ringa Ringa"..Feel free.
Even though in India, they are in a negative uproar over this movie, it def gave India a place in the minds of otherwise oblivious people all over the world.
(Not only am I a Jamaican who secretly thinks they speak fluent Spanish but since this movie came out, I secretly think Im an Indian recording artist.. A.R. Rahman is the MAN! Open your horizons my fellow "Art lovers")

2. FASHION was remarkable..(For some!)

Marion Cotillard- I LOVED this. Dior haute Couture.


John Legend(w/model Girlfriend)- Looked like, John Legend in a designer suit. Good look nevertheless. [Hair did seem a lil trimmed..clean cut, I Wont lie.. Nice]


Sarah Jessica Parker-I love the top part of this dress. It looked stunningly remarkable on her.
Again Dior Haute Couture.


Personally, I think Taraji P. Henson, looked sooo beautiful.


Beyonce-As usual, Beautiful, Shapy. Extremely.


Kate Winslet- Not too flattering but she looked wonderful.

There was much more Oscar fashion but those seen above really caught my eye.

I Model. I love it. Its not Easy but Its great.

Some people have a natural "thing" for posing and creativity in front of the camera and others have to really practice. I caught a glimpse of some pics in models ports that are so intriguing.

I took a look at the March 2009 issue of VIBE magazine today, and Keyshia Cole is HOT!


They had a couple features here and there of some very hot up and coming people to look out for. A spread on Ms.Cole.....

A spread called BLACK MEN RULE with the first Black Male Supermodel, Tyson Beckford gracing the front page of the spread. (I swear to you I dropped that magazine upon first glance! LoL Subconscious reaction maybe?)

Futuristic&Barbie&Ultra thin?! Huh?
P.S. This February's fashion week also marks the year of Barbie's 50th anniversary.

A lot of designers went for metallics and futuristic themes. BCBG Max Azria(Lubov Azria&BCBG's Max) went for Skinny Legs, Symmetrical necklines, and Metallic tights...Just think future.

I am feeling this outfit only because I am among other things, an artist, and I immediately appreciated the art in this. Not just a regular print or plain fabric, time was taken out to create the colors.

Ok now to the topic..

Today, I went to work..Hairdressing. Very Tedious Art.
Then went to Fashion Show rehearsal. Which I missed tryouts for a different other show I am coordinating to attend...

And realized something.

What defines skinny nowadays?
I mean we KNOW it when we SEE it ..butttt how do we define it.
Is it the bones poking out??

Apparently..Im "too SKINNY" by stereotypical "Black men standards.." My Hips arent a size 40 and up..and you cannot sit a cup on my booty..[depends on the cup tho LoL]
I prefer to call myself SLIM(because I have "curves", like one or 2 lol)
BUT ....for Runway modeling...Im Supposedly too BIG for high fashion, or so I get told occasionally by designers and casting agents..

LoL.

Lets analyze ME for a second..then analyze what goes down on these runways..

VERY small yes..But I have hips(or the illusion of such lol)..

NOT quite a size 6 and up nor is it an apple in any way.. but I have a "Rear"(for my size)...

Not quite a Roll here..but NO RIBS showing nevertheless..


Now on to some top models...
They used to say they are taking these girls that are 14 and putting them on the runway so of course they would be skinny...
One of my favs..Chanel Iman..so gorgeous but...SHORTY(my bad, exotic bombshell) 19..umm yea..excuse?
